SAP Ariba Partners with Barclaycard on Corporate Payments
Last week, SAP Ariba, the Palo Alto-based provider of the Ariba Network and source-to-settle solutions platform, announced a strategic partnership with Barclaycard Commercial Payments, part of Barclays Bank PLC. The partnership will see Barclaycard integrate its B2B payment product, Precisionpay, into SAP Ariba solutions. The integration will become available later this year and will bring procurement and payments together within the Ariba Network. This will provide users with a seamless end-to-end P2P experience. Precisionpay Bank Transfer, which will be the first Barclaycard product to launch within the Ariba Network, will allow buyers to pay suppliers earlier in the procurement cycle. Buyers could also benefit from access to working capital. Instead of paying suppliers directly, Barclaycard could fund payments, allowing buyers more time to pay the balance, and suppliers to get paid promptly, improving their cash flow.
