Nvoicepay, Yooz, and How Social Media Fits into P2P: What You May Have Missed

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, when thousands of people will proclaim their love to a special someone. The statistics are impressive for the holiday, with the average consumer spending $116.21 on the day, and about $13 billion spend on the holiday in the United States. That’s some impressive numbers, so it’s no wonder that many companies try to capitalize on the day.

On the other hand, we at Ardent Partners were more interested in accounts payable automation. Over the past few weeks, we touched on a new partnership between Nvoicepay and Yooz, how social media fits into the procure-to-pay workflow, and who needs to get involved in a P2P transformation project. Nvoicepay & Yooz Partner to Automate AP in the Midmarket

Back on January 26, we covered the announcement of Yooz and Nvoicepay’s new partnership to drive accounts payable automation in the midmarket. Yooz has a long pedigree in Europe with the first two stages of the AP process—receive and process—while Nvoicepay’s solution suite focuses more on the payment side of the equation. With both providers focusing on the midmarket, the new partnership is sure to be an interesting one for AP teams. Mind the Gap: Social Media and the Procure-to-Pay Process

In the first installment of our brief series on social media and the P2P process, we talked about the problem of social capability gaps in the procure-to-pay workflow. The long and short of it is that enterprises can ill afford to ignore the capabilities of social media—whether it’s for connectivity or facilitating improved trading partner relationships. Events Management in 2015: How Will It Evolve in the Year Ahead?

Meetings and events management may be a primary marketing function, Chris Dwyer explains in his January 30th article, but there’s tremendous value in other key stakeholders (particularly procurement and finance) to actively collaborate and cross-coordinate when it comes to building a deep, multifaceted events management program. Chris should know what he’s talking about—and how such programs will evolve in 2015—as Ardent’s resident meetings and events management expert. Social Media and P2P: A Use Case for Twitter

Continuing our loosely connected series on social media and procure-to-pay is this February 4 article on a use-case for Twitter in the P2P workflow. Twitter’s capabilities as a short message service make it key for keeping up-to-date on important information, as well as managing status inquiries. The short version? It’d be worthwhile to include Twitter-like functionality in any enterprise’s P2P toolkit. Social Media in P2P: Internal Knowledge Management (via Wikis)

A “wiki” is, simply defined, a website that anyone can edit. Wikipedia is the most popular example, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one. In fact, using wikis as internal knowledge management can be a powerful motivator to improve accounts payable and P2P performance, given that a wiki allows employees to have access to the collected knowledge of the organization whenever and wherever they need it. Social Media and P2P: How Social Networks Develop and Strengthen Trading Partner Relationships

The underlying capabilities and drivers behind the most successful social networks can and should have the same impact in business communication and performance. As such, there is a remarkable opportunity for businesses to begin to attack the current social media gap and incorporate many of the key social media capabilities into their business tools, technologies, and networks. This is particularly true when looking at things in a P2P context, as we did in this February 9 article. The P2P Blueprint: Who Needs to Get Involved?

When it comes to advancing the procure-to-pay maturity of an organization, one of the first questions that should be asked is which stakeholders need to get involved in order to maximize the effectiveness of the project. That’s the query we answer in our February 11 article, which aims to outline the functional areas that need to be involved in any P2P transformation project.
